The Prison Pastoral is a Sector of the Social Pastoral of the Catholic Church.
In the Archdiocese of Maputo, it works closely with the Sector of "Justice and Peace" for a global monitoring of prisoners brothers.
The Prison Pastoral is based on three main levels:
The Religious assistance is manifested by the prayer (celebration of the Mass, recitation of the Rosary ...), the biblical formation (Bible School) and catechetical (weekly catechesis).
The Human assistance is developed by Human Integral Formation that is offered to prisoners by the School of Life, the workshops of art therapy inserted in the rehabilitation program of the "Freedom's Laboratory".
The Legal assistance
is implemented mainly in collaboration with the Sector "Justice and Peace" with its activities in prisons.
